What is a StayPlan?
The Plan is a detailed, comprehensive assessment study of your home, evaluating its suitability for the next 10-30 years, along with recommendations and solutions that allow you to determine:
- Can I stay here as I age?
- What would it take for me to retire-in-place?
- Can I afford the maintenance and modifications necessary to maintain my lifestyle, safety, and comfort into the future?
How much does a StayPlan cost?
Our initial visit is a no-cost consultation. Thereafter, the cost of your plan is based on a case-by-case basis. We consider many factors, such as the size and condition of the home. A cost proposal is presented following the initial home visit. For most single-family homes, StayPlans start at $2,950.
Do you help complete the recommended home projects in my StayPlan?
No, HomeSpan makes unbiased and objective recommendations that can be carried out by the contractor of your choice or even by you or a family member. We can, however, provide referrals and even manage the work we recommend in our plans should you need ongoing support.
When should I contact HomeSpan?
Ideally, we recommend conducting a StayPlan as part of your retirement planning in your 50’s or 60’s. Our Plans are still helpful for those who have already retired or even those who are aging-in-place in their homes. They provide an unbiased and objective look at your home that can often aid in making decisions about the future.
What’s your HomeSpan? It might be 30 years!
Our home-assessment studies empower your future decisions, including whether you can retire-in-place. You’ll get a specific action plan, and a deeper understanding of the safety and affordability of your home for up to 30 years into the future.
